Haegeun Song

Dr. Haegeun Song, MD,PhD is an Internist/cardiologist at Shanghai DeltaHealth.

Dr. Song received her medical degree from Chung-Ang University in Seoul. After 5 years Internal Medicine training, she joined cardiology department of Asan Medical Center in Seoul. She worked in the interventional cardiology team under the tutelage of Dr. Seung-Jung Park, a renowned pioneer in coronary artery intervention including left main coronary intervention. She participated many of cardiovascular complex procedures and managed patients who need critical care in Intensive care unit.

Dr. Song has focused on percutaneous coronary intervention and its clinical trials to prove better treatment outcome. Also she specializes coronary artery imaging, physiology with intra-vascular ultrasound, virtual histology, optical coherence tomography and fractional flow reserve. Her recent study published in Journal of American College of Cardiology showed the optimal treatment strategies for re-stenosis after intra-coronary stenting. While she was working in DeltaHealth, she published 2 review articles about ‘clinical utility of Intra-vascular ultrasound’. She also has participated in many studies as a co-author, published in many articles including New England Journal of Medicine, Circulation and Journal of American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Song participated in a visiting fellowship at Cardiovascular Research Foundation and an observership at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. Dr. Song’s professional activities include membership in the Korean Society of Cardiology, Korean Society of Interventional Cardiology, Korean Society of Echocardiography and the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association.


Area of Expertise: Diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, congenital heart disease, arrythmia and heart failure as well as general Internal medicine disease including diabetes, thyroid disease, GI and respiratory disease.
